AICTE Launches PG Scholarship Scheme for 2023-24: Empowering India’s Future Technical Leaders

New Delhi, November 30, 2023: In a significant move to support higher education in India, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has unveiled its Post Graduate (PG) Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2023-24. This initiative, a boon for students pursuing technical postgraduate courses, is set to provide financial assistance and promote excellence in technical education across the country.

Financial Support for Meritorious Students: Under this scheme, AICTE will award a monthly stipend of Rs. 12,400 to students who have excelled in their GATE/CEED examinations. The scholarship aims to cover students pursuing Master’s programs like M.E., M.Tech., M.Arch., and M.Des. in AICTE-approved institutions.

Who is Eligible?: The scholarship is accessible to students who have secured a valid GATE/CEED score at the time of admission. Notably, the scholarship will be available for a maximum of 24 months or the duration of the course, whichever is shorter. Students in the final year of integrated dual degree programs are also eligible, starting from their 9th semester.

Promoting Inclusive Education: In an encouraging step towards inclusivity, AICTE is also extending this scholarship to an additional 10% of candidates from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), beyond the approved intake of the programs.

Application Process Simplified: AICTE has urged institutes to upload the details of eligible students onto their portal by December 15, 2023. Students can start applying online from September 18, 2023, with the deadline for applications set for November 30, 2023.

Documentation Essentials: Students need to provide scanned copies of their GATE/CEED scorecards, Aadhar-linked active bank account details, and caste/category certificates through the AICTE portal.

Role of Educational Institutes: Institutes play a crucial role in verifying the eligibility of students for the scholarship. They must ensure the accuracy of student details, including admission and course completion dates.

Scholarship Disbursement Method: The scholarship will be disbursed through the Aadhaar Bridge Payment System (ABPS) via the Public Financial Management System (PFMS), and only Aadhar-linked active savings bank accounts will be considered for this purpose.

AICTE’s Commitment to Education: This scholarship program reflects AICTE’s commitment to nurturing the country’s technical talent. By offering financial assistance, AICTE not only supports the academic pursuits of students but also contributes to building a skilled and competent workforce for the future.
