In this article “Heat exchanger function” will be summarize. Heat exchanger is a device that uses as transfer the thermal energy between a liquid surface and solid surface or between two or more than two fluids.

Cooler:-

Cooler is works as converting the hot air environment into cool air environment by way of water. A fan inside the cooler is blows the hot air over the water saturated pad that helps in culling the surrounding air and also added a good amount of moisture just before blowing out the moisture into the surrounding air. The hot air alters into moist and cool air.

Advantages of cooler:-

The advantages of cooler is describe below,

Affordability: –

The cooler is not too much expensive. The cooler easily can get from market in different sizes and different prises.

Installation and maintenance:-

The cooler does not contain lots of parts for this reason it became very inexpensive and for installation a technician is not needed for this particular reason the installation cost became very less. In the other way less equipment is present in the cooler maintenance cost also became very less.

Portability:-

The advantage of cooler is portability. The size of the cooler is not too big for this reason is became lighter in weight and very easy to switch from one place to another place.

Health:-

For the using of cooler the indoor space temperature start to decrease and easily comfort can be get which is very beneficial for health.

Disadvantages of cooler:-

The disadvantages of cooler is describe below,

Noisy:-

When cooler is running inside a space that time unwanted noise is appear.

Daily change of water:-

Daily changing of water in the cooler it’s became very problematic.

Not powerful:-

Cooler is not able to do too much cooling inside a room compare to air conditioning system.

Crude oil cooling:-

Crude oil cooling is works as a coolant in the engine oil to remove the excess amount of heat from the internal combustion engine. The hot engine convert excess amount of heat to the oil. After that the oil carries the heat and transfer into the heat exchanger of the system. In other word we can say that other name for the crude oil cooling is Radiator. The lower temperature oil again back to the hot matter for cooling in continuous manner.

Advantages of crude oil cooling:-

  1. Installation is easy
  2. Controlled and efficient
  3. Crude oil cooling can cool the hot air temperature at the exact temperature.
  4. The use of water can be decreases
  5. Crude oil cooling confirms that oil is cooled before the circulation.

Disadvantages of crude oil cooling:-

  1. Oil is flammable
  2. Extra need of oil
  3. Possible to damage the engine

Evaporator:-

Evaporator is a device which is widely used in the industry of process and in the industry of chemical. By the help of evaporator liquid convert into vapour. In other word we could say that in evaporator a solution is evaporate means removing liquid substance by boiling from the solution in the tube of the evaporator.

Advantages of evaporator:-

  1. Low hold up
  2. Relatively low cost
  3. Small amount of area is required
  4. Large units easily can be produce
  5. The rate of heat transfer is relatively high
  6. Resistance time is relatively low
  7. Heat transfer rate is good.

Disadvantages of evaporator:-

  1. High pressure drop
  2. High head room requirement

Condenser:-

Heat exchanger another type is condenser. Inside the condenser with the help of coolant gaseous matter is compressed and comes into a liquid matter in this process latent heat is released in the surrounding and this is called Condenser.

The process of condensation is involving the temperature from higher to lower. Condensation is reverse process of Vaporization.

Advantages of condenser:-

  1. Expansion ratio of the steam can be increases with the help of evaporator
  2. Back pressure of the steam easily can be reduce
  3. Temperature of the exhaust steam easily can be reduce
  4. Cost of power generation is reduced

Disadvantages of condenser:-

  1. Corrosion
  2. Difficulty appearing in repairing time
  3. High maintenance cost
  4. Require more area
  5. Need adequate supply for fresh water

Chillers:-

Chillers can be describing as a device that controls the temperature of the system by circulating a liquid substance. During the process excess amount of heat is produce which is exhausted into the environment.

Advantages of chillers:-

  1. Strong maintenance
  2. Wide application of pressure range
  3. Low cost
  4. Easy to run
  5. Easy to install
  6. Structure is made with simple materials

Disadvantages of chillers:-

  1. Low compression ratio
  2. Too many parts are present for this reason damage easily can appear
  3. No step less regulation
  4. Very much sensitive in liquid stroke.

  4. Die and tool cutting

Reboiler:-

Reboiler is a type of heat exchanger. The reboiler mainly provides heat to the base of field of industrial outpouring column. The reboilers boil the liquid substance from the base of a column of distillation and generate vapour which is again return to the column for driving the distillation separation.

Types of reboiler:-

Types of reboiler is listed below,

  1. Thermosyphon reboiler
  2. Kettle type reboiler
  3. Forced circulation reboiler
  4. Fired reboiler

Double pipe exchanger:-

The device double pipe exchanger exchange or transfer the heat of the system between two flows that could be stay in liquid state or gaseous state by conductor barrier. When the fluids are flow inside the double pipe exchanger they are not mixing with each other.

Advantages of double pipe exchanger:-

  1. High pressure easily can be handling by double pipe exchanger.
  2. High temperature easily can be handling by double pipe exchanger
