  1. The burette is washed, rinsed and cleaned thoroughly
  2. Fill the burette with M/10 Na2O solution and write down the initial reading.
  3. Transfer 10 cm3 of HBr solution into a cleaned and washed titration flask using a pipette.
  4. Add 2 to 3 drops of titrating indicator: Methyl orange
  5. Slowly drop by drop add the M/10 Na2O solution to the titration flask, till the color changes to light pink.
  6. Write down the final reading.
  7. Calculate the amount of sodium oxide solution used to neutralise the HBr solution
