How to balance HBr + CuS?

HBr + CuS reaction is balanced using the traditional balancing method. The steps in balancing are given below:

  • Initially, the raw form of the chemical equation is considered.
  • HBr + CuS = CuBr2+H2S
  • There is one hydrogen atom on the reactant side whereas the number of hydrogen atoms are two on the product side.
  • So we multiply HBr on the product side by 2 to make the H atom number on both sides of the reaction the same.
  • Thus equation gets transformed to 2HBr + CuS = CuBr2+H2
